- Postdoc, UCLA (2013–2016)
- Merck & University of California President Postdoctoral Fellow
- Ph.D., North Dakota State University 2013)
- NSF Graduate Fellow
- B.S., North Dakota State University (2008)
Jean-Luc did his Postdoctoral training (2013-2016) under the mentorship of Prof. Miguel Garcia-Garibay at the University of California Los Angeles as a UC President and Merck Laboratories Postdoctoral Fellow. While at UCLA, Jean-Luc investigated Brownian Rotational Dynamics in Photoresponsive Crystalline Molecular Rotors under UV & Vis irradiations. In addition to using cutting edge solid state NMR techniques to probe Brownian rotatory motions in crystalline solids, he also employed pump-probe spectroscopy techniques to rationalize the mechanisms & kinetics of light initiated processes in crystalline organic chromophores. Jean-Luc graduated from North Dakota State University in 2013 with Ph.D. degree as a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow working under the guidance of Prof. Sivaguru Jayaraman. He also received his B.S. degree in 2008 from the same university .
